Bradford-Union Area Vocational-Technical Center is located in Starke, Florida at the corner of Orange Street and CR 229 (Brownlee Road). The main campus consists of seven buildings on 27 acres located just west of US Highway 301.
Practical Nursing for Adults
This program is designed to prepare students for employment as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Training incorporates the Health Science Core, Articulated Nursing Assistant, and Practical Nursing skills within the program.
The mission of the Practical Nursing Program is to prepare students for employment in health care facilities and to provide updated training for persons currently or previously employed in the Health Career field.

11th grade level on Level A TABE

Tuition: $1.91 per hour
$25.00 Lab fee

Clinical experience accounts for 50% of class
Competencies
This program is designed to teach body structure and function, nursing skills, nutrition, CPR, first aid, basic computer skills, administration of medications, therapeutic treatments, lifespan issues, diseases and disorders, and rehabilitation concepts. Instruction is also given for care of the obsteric client and newborn.
Curriculum is mandated by the State Department of Education and is designed to prepare the student to take the Florida State Board of Nursing Licensing examination to become an LPN.
