This LVN twelve-month program is located in Woodville, Texas, adjacent to the Tyler County Hospital, and is an Equal Opportunity Educational program.
The philosophy of the Tyler County Hospital School of Vocational Nursing is based upon the belief that human beings are holistic beings, having individual rights and needs throughout their entire life span. We stress holistic health not as a single process, but as a total way of life. It is our desire to create an environment for learning which is both positive and stimulating. We believe that the environment at the Tyler County Hospital School of Vocational Nursing will foster the student’s independence, creativity and self-reliance.
Classes begin in January of each year. The course consists of three levels:
Level I-Sixteen (16) weeks with major concentration in classroom lectures and demonstrations, coordinated with a few hours of clinical experience in Woodville, Lufkin, Jasper, and Livingston. Monday-Friday
Levels II & III- Thirty-six (36) weeks of increased clinical experience coordinated with clinical conferences and fewer classroom hours.
Qualifications & Requirements for Admission:
At least 18 years of age
High School graduate or GED
Application: each year from April 1 through July 31

Financial aide is available through the Texas Workforce Commission for qualifying students; Tyler County Hospital for Tyler County residents; and various other hospitals; VA benefits
