Licensed Vocational Nurses are growing in demand. The areas that expect the most exponential growth are nursing homes and home health services. There is a high demand for vocational nurses, partly because there is a shortage of nurses, and partly because it is more cost effective for the administrators of health care facilities to employ LVNs. In essence, health care facilities can keep their cost of operations down by employing vocational nurses.

Nursing assistants. Demand for qualified nursing assistants is very high. A caring and empathetic personality is highly desirable in the field. Physical strength is also a great benefit as nursing assistants often help patients who have limited mobility. Medical advancements allow people to live longer, which is validated in a statement by the National Nurses Assistant Survey which suggested that the total number of people in long-term care is expected to double from 13 million in 2000, to 27 million in 2050. These advancements, and a growing US population, support the need for certified nursing assistants
