The Operating Room pharmacy provides medications in prefilled syringes for anesthesia use. Providing these medications in prefilled, properly labeled syringes reduces the potential for error that could result from an omitted label or an incorrectly labeled syringe.
Operating Room Pharmacy Technician Duties:
-Track and refill nursing kits, anesthesia trays, and narcotic boxes
-Place Narcotic Order.
-Monitor for outdated stock on shelves and stored in refrigerator
-Restock shelves/refrigerator to ensure sufficient stock for next day
-Take cart to anesthesia workroom
-Unit inspections in assigned area
-Track orders for billing accuracy
