American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) is well known specialty nursing organization, representing the interests of more than 500,000 nurses. AACN helps all the nursing organizations and associations to work in collaboration to promote the nursing in America.
The American Association of Colleges of Nursing is also working for the financial support of nursing students and professionals by launching different scholarships, fellowships and job opportunities.
AACN offers many higher-degree nursing education courses, and trainings programs. For instance, the E-Learning program offers quality web-based educational courses that are cost effective, and available 24/7. AACN offers a wide array of opportunities through national conferences and local and regional seminars, as well. In addition, AACN publishes a scientific research journal, a clinical magazine for the practicing nurse, and a quarterly series for advanced practice nurses. AACN chapters often sponsor community events such as CPR classes, health fairs and school career days, and they participate in the programs of other organizations.
AACN has nine categories of members: Active, Emeritus, Lifetime, International, Honorary, Student, Affiliate, Corporate, and Retired/Permanently Disabled. Any citizen of the United States or non-United States citizen who is a student in an approved nursing program and is currently not licensed as a registered nurse is eligible for student membership in the Association.
