Certified Industrial Hygienist Duties:
-Surveying work areas to identify hazards (such as toxic agents, ventilation problems, and noise)
-Making recommendations on improving the safety of workers and the surrounding community
-Training personnel to recognize hazards and to take appropriate safety measures when working under potentially hazardous conditions
-Choosing the appropriate personal protective equipment
-Training and educating the community about job-related risks

Industrial Hygienist Education
Possession of a bachelor’s degree in the physical or biological sciences or engineering, with 30 credits in any combination of biology, chemistry, environmental health, health physics, industrial hygiene, physiology, or toxicology.
