Must be a high school graduate or equivalent with a GED.

Additional post-high school education is desirable. Must have completed a State approved Paramedic course. Must complete Parkview Health approved driving/insurability course during departmental orientation. One year experience in ambulance service is preferred. Must maintain a current and valid Indiana driver’s license. CPR certification required. Paramedic Certification. Must be ACLS Certified. Must be ITLS or PHTLS certified, or obtained within six months of hire. Must be PALS or PEPP certified or obtained within six months of hire. Must be CEVO II or EVOC certified, or obtained within six months of hire. Must demonstrate insurability under the hospital’s or contracting agency vehicle and the liability insurance policies provisions without “drivers exclusion” and other insurance modifications, and /or high-risk classification. Maintains a physical level sufficient to provide essential functions. Must be able to lift 100 pounds and assist with 300 pounds.

PARAMEDIC ER at Unm Hospitals (Albuquerque, NM)

Assist in the care of patients under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. Perform initial triage screening assessments, stabilizes and/or prepare patient for transport, document patient care activities, and provide ongoing patient monitoring. Under medical direction administer IV and oral medications. Ensure adherence to Hospitals and departmental policies and procedures. Patient care assignment may include Neonate, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult and Geriatric age groups.

Education Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Medication Administration class within 6 months of hire

Experience Requirements:
2 years directly related experience
