Summary of Job Purpose and Function
The Veterinary Technician supports the veterinarians in ensuring quality veterinary care for all pets, advocates for pets, educates clients on all aspects of pet health, and ensures a safe and effective hospital environment.
Experience, Education and/or Training
Veterinary technician certification or licensure required (CVT, RVT, LVT, and LVMT).
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree from an AVMA accredited veterinary technology program, or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
Must be able to perform all required skills of AVMA accredited veterinary technology programs at a level in which to aid in the efficiency of the practice.
Must be at least 18 years old to perform duties involving radiography (x-ray) and exposure to radioactive substances.
One year related experience required with customer service preferred.

Veterinary Technician Little Seneca Animal Hospital
Veterinary Hospital in Germantown, Maryland is seeking experienced Veterinary Technician to work full time.
Responsibilities include client education, administering oral and injectable medicines, placing IV catheters, radiology, animal restraint, as well as basic animal care.
Candidates must be team players, compassionate about working with others in the care and treatment of animals, must have exceptional client service, and the ability to work under pressure. High School graduation required; some college preferred.
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND/OR TRAINING
· Veterinary technician certification or licensure preferred, or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities; High School Diploma required.
· Must be at least 18 years old to perform duties involving radiography (x-ray) and exposure to radioactive substances.
· Medical background (veterinary technician, human healthcare, pharmaceutical, etc.) with medical terminology training is preferred.
· One year related experience with customer service preferred.
