Mohawk Valley Community College’s Center for Community and Economic Development is ready to launch a six-week Certified Nurse Assistant program.
This 120-hour course includes 90 classroom hours and 30 supervised clinical hours.
Upon successful completion of the program, students are eligible to take the national certification exam. Topics covered include communication and interpersonal skills, universal precautions, infection control, safety, basic nursing skills, personal care skills, mental health, social service needs, care of cognitively impaired residents, basic restorative services and resident’s rights.
Classes will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. each Monday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Students will gain their clinical experience with six 8-hour sessions at the end of February.
Tuition includes textbooks and national testing fee. Uniforms are to be purchased by the student.
