Every night, after pulling on her scrubs and heading to work for the night shift, the nursing home aide would start to feel tense. Frail people’s lives would soon be in her hands. Call lights would blink. Alarms would beep. Sometimes she felt too rushed to care for everyone properly.

CNA Eldercare Specialist Program

Arapahoe Community College will launch a new Eldercare Specialist program. Through the program, students can earn a new college certificate for the eldercare specialist. The program is open to all Certified Nurse Assistants (CNAs).

The Nursing Assistant program provides classroom theory, laboratory experience and clinical learning that teaches students the skills to perform duties such as taking vital signs, bathing and dressing patients, making beds, and other direct patient care.
