Patient Flow Coordinator functions as a non-clinical liaison between patient and physician
Patient Flow Coordinator coordinates the non-clinical activities of the patient care area through acting as a liaison with the nurse and physician enabling them to focus on quality care and patient satisfaction.
Patient Flow Coordinator education: High school diploma, or equivalent. Working knowledge of medical terminology. and CPR certification.
Patient Flow Coordinator Duties:
-coordinates unit by greeting patients and visitors, triaging phone calls, maintaining current information on locator boards; communicates scheduled tests and procedures for patients.
-processes patients’ charts upon admission and discharge.
-coordinates and maintains nursing unit supplies; monitors patient confidentiality; maintains a hazard-free work environment.
-responds to patient/visitor requests and complaints; escalates requests or complaints to the appropriate staff.
-assists with patient care/bed placement assignments.
-assists unit manager with clerical responsibilities.
Patient Flow Coordinator skills: ability to interact with patients and physiciansm excellent customer service skills; strong computer skills
